As part of our coverage of the 2024 World Pipe Band Championships and the Piping Live! Festival in Glasgow, TRADtv spoke with the innovative musical duo Anxo Lorenzo and Eoghan Neff who make up experimental traditional band, Eoghanxo Unit. The two inspired musicians blend the sounds of the traditional Spanish / Portuguese bagpipe “gaita” and Galician music with traditional Irish-influenced fiddle playing and loop techniques to achieve an unforgettable sound.
Here, we chat to the pair about their unique fusion of styles and instruments as they detail their musical journey all the way to playing at the world famous National Piping Centre as part of Glasgow’s 2024 Piping Live! Festival.
